Making a Difference

The Rachel Hunt Memorial Scholarship Foundation for Juniors was established in 2015 to honor the positive legacy of Rachel Hunt.

The Foundation is a 501c3 charitable organization. Its goal is to award educational scholarships to Best Junior Handler and Reserve Junior Handler at designated AKC shows.

Demands for the Foundation to support shows has increased considerably. To expand our reach, we hope to gain new supporters. Donors and show committees can help us reach more Juniors. To learn more about becoming a Partner, please contact us.


How it Works

The Show Chair of an AKC conformation show must first apply to the Foundation by sending an email. The Foundation board reviews applications quarterly and notifies the Chair if their event can be sponsored.

Winners of Best Junior Handler and Reserve Junior Handler on the day of the designated show receive a certificate and details about the award. He/She has until their 21st birthday to contact the Foundation to claim the award and apply it towards an educational institution.

The Foundation mails funds directly to the University, Junior College, or Trade School of the awardee's choice.
